La Luna Negra

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to work in a restaurant as a painter. It was a fun experience, being able to sand, prime, and paint on tables. I just loved the idea of having your work on display permanently for everyone to see. It was a big job too, I had my friend (mentor, and artist too) helped me out. It was a total of 32 tables. We completed 16 tables on the first run, in 10 hours. Unfortunately, due to school I had to let my friend finish the other 16 tables. I only included a few photos of the work and how it looks in the restaurant. Drop by if your in the Arcadia area  http://lalunanegrarestaurant.com/

Mechanical Batman II

Mechanical Batman II
2.5x3.5
Ink
My second attempt at drawing a mechanical Batman. The design is very different from the first, very challenging to come up with mechanical pieces. I'll improve eventually...hopefully.

Mechanical Batman I

Mechanical Batman I
2.5x3.5
Ink
My attempt at drawing a mechanical Batman. It turn out to look more like a cat than a bat, probably because of the ears. I should have made them longer. I'll be drawing another mechanical batman, see if that one turns out better.

Megatron and Optimus

Megatron and Optimus Prime
2.5x3.5
Watercolor
I can't wait for the new Transformers movie and what better way to celebrate then by drawing both Megatron and Optimus. I decided to make these into one art piece, since you can't have a hero without a villain. Originally, I was going to used makers but watercolor is more fun to work with.

This is a drawing of vocalist Yuko Suzuhana from Wagakki Band. It's a rock band that uses classical Japanese instruments in combination with standard rock instruments. I really love the sound of this band. You can check out there video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_xTet06SUo

Another character played by Mexican comedian Eugenio Derbez. Just look up "Instructions Not Included" and you will know who I am talking about. He used to have a popular show in the late 90's.

Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon Cosplayer
2.5x3.5
Ink
"Fighting evil by moon light, winning love by day light." I can't believe I remember those lyrics to the intro song of Sailor Moon. Then again I never miss the show, one of the few anime shows I grew up on. I know it was show for girls, but there was something special about this one. Until, this day I only watched season 1 and 2.

I made this for Christians art enthusiasts, since it is difficult to find new and graphically appealing Christian art. I hope you enjoy this print, and serves as a reminder to us Christians to never lose faith. If you guys and gals enjoy this piece, let me know. Who knows, maybe I'll dedicate my self to making more Christian art.

No Pain, No Gain

College life can be a a real stress at times, with finals, and one project after another. Time becomes a real issue for me and others. However, the semester is practically over, next week actually. This means it's time for the summer fun, but if you are like me. We have better things to do than having fun, like updating our blogs, etsy, and society6 sites. It's a real pain, but someone has to do it. Otherwise, that dream of self employment will never be a reality. But enough stalling, you'll be seeing more activity here, and updates will be made on the art shops. There is prints to be uploaded and art to be made. Hopefully, everything goes according to plan.

Instagram

I have been spending time on instagram lately. It's amazing how many artist are using the social app to promote their art work and website or blog. The best part, it actually works. However, what impressed me the most is 14 year old artists that make better art pieces then other artist I know that attend art institutions, including myself. I'm truly surprised by this. although, I am a bit jealous that 14 year old's do better work then me. It inspires me to work harder as an artist and learn to manage my time more wisely. After all, I do want to make a living as an artist. You can also follow me on instagram under the name digitalowl
