Welcome To LA

My first ACEO lithograph called "Welcome To LA". Now to test some prints and figure how many to actually print. This piece has to do with the air pollution in LA, because of it's geographical location, the pollution just can't go anywhere. It basically locked in. That's why I did the gas mask, which I think people should wear in LA. The building behind the mask is LA's City Hall. At least part of it.

Lettering

Hip-Hop Machine

This piece was inspired after being invited to the hip-show (see previous post). This piece actually have me some problems, specially around the DJ turn tables. If I added black to the turn tables your eyes would focus in that area, So I decided to just leave it blank. It was a hard choice but it work out in the end. Hopefully. Live Art!!!

So I will be doing live art with my friend at a Hip-Hop show in LA. I never done live art before, but I think I can manage. Hopefully. So if your into hip-hop drop by and check us work and enjoy the hip-hop show. Oh and I'm going by Crono Cruz. Should that be my new artist name instead?

Dia De Los Muertos

I finally finish my four pieces for the next art show. It is a Dia De Los Muertos theme show, so I am super exited to be part of it. However, my art pieces are not very traditional. Jenny!!

Continuing to practice using digital tools. This time I wanted to draw without using black lines. The result was very satisfying, since it's very graphical looking. I can picture it in a shirt or poster. Also, I used my friend Jenny as a character, since I don't have to spend time designing one. I'll continue to do this until I gain more experience designing my own characters. =)

The Fangs

Another digital project to practice my cell shading skills. I didn't put to much time on the characters, because my purpose was to practice coloring. I just based them off two twins that I know. I'm actually happy with the turn out. However, I will continue to practice, and what I learn this time around is to make my lines much thinner as possible.

Night Watcher

My attempt at drawing and painting digitally again. I haven't done this in a while, so I hope you can cut me some slack. I was going for a cell shaded animation look. If you have any tip for improving my coloring digital skills I will grandly appreciate it. =)

Space Suit

I originally had in mind in doing a humanoid robot, but it ended up as a space suit. Anyway, this is more of a design than an illustration. I did the inking on Velum and place a white sheet of paper behind when I scan the image.

Tea Time

I finally finish my Tea Time piece. This was originally a piece for a flyer about tea and calligraphy, but the event got cancelled. However, I decided to finish it. It's hand drawn. Since this was a design for a flyer that explains the layout.

Mask and Patterns

Working with mask's and patterns. I like the turn out for the first and third drawing, because of the contrast. Second drawing seems to be blending in with the color of the card stock. Oh well.

Lion, Ocelot, & Sitatunga

Here are some animals I drew using a calligraphy pen. Although, I think I should be more loose when using the calligraphy pen. I still tend on wanting to use it as a regular pen, and that's a big no no.

The King, The Queen, & The Witch

This is what I had more in mind when using gold or silver pen. It's simple yet has an elegant look. The difficult part was drawing the squares in the background.

Life, Death, & The After Life

These 3 art pieces were done for the show "Life, Death, and The After Life." It was the last show I was in 2011. The work was very tenacious. Sorry for the sucky photos.

Rob's Story

This is the first and last time I use white charcoal to do an illustration. It was difficult to do small details with charcoal. Especially, when your working on a 2.5"x3.5" card stock. I'll just stick to ink.

Metal Love Birds

These pieces were for another show back in September called Metal Love Birds. I actually had fun making these. Which would you guys say is my strongest and weakest piece from this 4?

Kaleidoscope Hearts

These art pieces where done for a show call Kaleidoscope Hearts back in August in 2011. It was a show about the diversity of LA. Can you guess the cultures just by looking at the icons? It was done on 16x20 canvas boards using ink & cel-vinyl.

ACEO's

These are just some of the ACEO's I have done since December 2011 until now. There are the size of baseball cards and are fun to collect and buy. Since they are very affordable art pieces you can buy. In addition, what makes them cool is that they are all one of a kind. You won't ever see the same art piece twice.
